Coronavirus Policy 2021
Services

Please read our Coronavirus Policy here to understand what procedures we are taking to unsure the safety of our customers and our staff.

1. If a customer displays symptoms of the coronavirus:

If a customer displays symptoms of the coronavirus, the person on duty will firstly ensure the individual is safe, and will then inform them that they are leaving the room to contact our dedicated Coronavirus Rapid Response Team. A member of the Rapid Response Team will attend to check symptoms, including temperature and will call NHS 111. If the customer is confirmed as having probable symptoms, and doesn’t need hospital admission, they will be supported by the Coronavirus Rapid Response team for a period of 7 – 14 days.

2. If a customer does not have symptoms but is part of a household that is isolating:

The customer must remain at a safe distance from other household members, and our carers will deliver care in the safest way possible, ensuring full PPE is worm at all times. If the customer presents symptoms, the same procedure is followed as point. All our staff are fully trained in Infection Control and follow our new PPE Policy & Procedure.

3. If a carer presents symptoms of the coronavirus:

Our staff are required to immediately call NHS 111 if they present Coronavirus symptoms and are asked to self-isolate for seven days. If no symptoms are present, they may return on day 8. Any customer they have been in contact with will be given further advice.

4. If a carer presents no symptoms but lives with someone who has presented symptoms:

The carer will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. If after 14 days there are no symptoms present, the carer may return to work. If symptoms present or persist during this time, the carer is required to self-isolate for seven days after the symptoms first display. Hygiene must be ensured during this time by following the latest government and NHS England advice.

5. Family members or carers:

To minimise the risk of the infection being passed on and to meet government advice on social distancing all family members and carers must leave the area where care staff need to work so that they can carry out safe care.
